What does it take to win the Northern Outdoors Rack Of The Year Contest?

Back in 1980 we realized that we were taking many more large bucks than anyone else, and our success was equaling that of “the good old days”. To record our efforts we made a commitment to photograph every big deer we took and to compile a photo collection of our trophy bucks. While over the years a few deer have escaped us, we have managed to record most of the outstanding deer. At our lodge in The Forks we have on display a photo album of these deer and the men who shot them. Each season “the Book” grows, and each year we come a little closer to our goal of becoming the undisputed, all time record producing outfitter of trophy whitetail bucks in North America.

How The Rack of the Year Contest Works

Each year we award a $500.00 Northern Outdoors Hunting Gift Certificate to the Northern Outdoors hunter who shoots the best Rack of the Year. The judging is done by our guides and their decision is final.
